G1 Ltd has won the contract to install a completely new internal CCTV system, as well as a new PA system, at Covent Garden Market.

Prior to the contract, G1 had previously maintained the existing CCTV system. The project is in its early stages and is undergoing approvals with English Heritage and Westminster Council, and is expected to be finished in the second half of the year.

Covent Garden Market operations manager Paul Murray said: "The old system was outdated, and we needed a new one. G1 really do understand our requirements, and are integral in our preliminary plans."

G1 will install 10 Pelco Spectra III day/night dome cameras, and 14 JVC TK-C205VPE static dome cameras, which will be controlled from the main control room. Images are displayed on 15-inch JV monitors.
