A Yorkshire housing association is leading an initiative to form a national body to help make large-scale voluntary transfer homeless service providers more effective
Craven Housing, part of the Yorkshire Housing Group, is to hold an initial meeting on November 4, where participants will consider setting up a national forum. They will also examine the role played by housing associations in the delivery of homelessness services.
Josh Sutton, homelessness and advice manager for Craven Housing, said: “At present there is no national environment for LSVT homelessness service providers to meet and share best practice. We have a large number of homes between all the LSVT, so it should be us setting the agenda and delivering on homelessness service provisions.”
The ODPM is to send a representative to the meeting.
