Crowned court: This Winchester council scheme Makins Court has been named best retirement home in the National Homebuilder Awards.

The development of 11 bungalows, 19 flats and a landscaped courtyard in Alresford, Hampshire, recently won the town’s Rose Bowl award for the development that has made the most outstanding contribution to the town.

The project was designed by John Thompson & Partners.
