Head of building surveying jumps ship to Cyril Sweett
Currie & Brown has ended the year by losing another boss, its head of building surveying Gary Fraughen. He has since joined rival Cyril Sweett.
Fraughen's departure follows a wave of exits from the year during the last six months. These include directors David Mitchell and Muir Crichton as well as regional bosses Frank Nicholson, Bill Booker and Ian McCallum.
Fraughen was made head of building surveying at the firm in July 2004. His previous career included a stint at property agent Richard Ellis. Cyril Sweett revealed to QS News in September its intention to grow its building surveying operations. Chief executive Dean Webster said: “It’s not been one of our core services. I think there’s an opportunity in the market for us. It shouldn’t be too difficult to do and should interest institutional clients.”
