Project management and cost consultancy DBK Back has made a string of new appointments following the management buy-out in August.

The Birmingham-based firm, formerly known as Back Group, has hired Neil Grocock as associate director.

Grocock, aged 35, joins from Commercial Relocation Consultants in Beaconsfield, Buckinghamshire. His experience is in project management and employer’s agent roles and he will work in the 12-strong London team.

DBK Back’s senior commercial manager Garrie Weatherley and commercial manager Keith Davis also become associate directors.

Weatherley will continue to be based in Birmingham, where the firm employs 50 people. He is to take over procurement and delivery of several major schemes, specialising in healthcare, mixed-use and residential development, according to DBK Back.

Davis, based in London, has been with the firm for over five years, during which he delivered a £125m data centre project in the Docklands. His current projects include Cranfields Mill, Ipswich, Farnborough Town Centre and Wembley shopping centre.

The firm has also hired a new marketing manager, Sarah Matthews, who will work in both Birmingham and London.

Duncan Berry, board director and member of the MBO team, said: “The recent MBO represented a prime opportunity to recognise the individual contributions of our highly skilled teams in Birmingham, London and Manchester.”

DBK Back made a profit of 12.5% in 2004 and employs over 70 people.
