The urban taskforce has called on the government to deliver urban regeneration now that the policy foundations have been laid.
Members of the taskforce, who met last week, has not ruled out reconvening to present a united front on regeneration.

Taskforce member Martin Crookston said: “Some members felt that not enough money had been made available by the government for urban regeneration. Others felt that the money that is available should be spent effectively before more is asked for. The taskforce is still anxious to help the cause of regeneration in any way it can.”

The group decided to meet after chair Lord Rogers complained the government had failed to pick up on most of its recommendations.
