Experian – a dedicated provider of information on company directors' track records – has welcomed new Government proposals to make it easier for bankrupt and failed company directors to start again in business.
However, the information solutions company is also calling for greater protection from dishonest directors, who must not be able to take advantage of the new legislation and continue cheating innocent people.
Around 7% of all company directors in the UK have been involved in more than one failed company, while no less than 3,000 individuals have more than ten failed companies as part of their track record.
Experian is calling for the continued practice of directors having to register their residential address at Companies House so that they can be traced.
