Ever want to get something off your chest, but no one wants to listen? In that case it’s probably time you set up a blog – an online equivalent of Speakers’ Corner at Hyde Park.

A blog, short for web log, is a website designed to provide commentary or news on a particular subject, but most often used as a personal online diary.

A quick search at CM uncovered a weird and wonderful array of blogs out there - one discusses unusual wedding venues in Scotland, another is run by a group calling itself the Brotherhood of the FuzzyBugs, and there’s quite a disturbing one about dolls run by a man calling himself Angry Gerald. But we’re sure there’s some normal blogs too.

It’s easy to set up a blog. Here’s how:

1. Choose a host. The most popular is www.blogger.com, but we at CM use www.wordpress.org

2. Register your details and provide a password.

3. Give your blog a title and decide whether you want it to be private or public.

4. Choose a template for how your blog will look.

5. The blog is on – now start writing!
