Doncaster Metropolitan Borough Council has chosen Speed Frame as its main supplier of composite doors for the next several years, a decision that will also benefit the local economy
Doncaster Metropolitan Borough Council has chosen Speed Frame PVCu as its principal main supplier for composite doors. The initial contract term is for several years, with options to develop the relationship further included as part of the package.
Commercial Director Mitchell Dennis, who manages all Speed Frame Social Housing activities across the country, leads the Speed Frame team working on the project for Doncaster MBC. Mitchell said, ‘We are delighted to have been selected by Doncaster MBC to meet their door requirements. Our composite doors are a superb product and it is nice to be working with our own local council on a project of this nature.
‘Our approach to all these projects is one of partnership and our relationship with Doncaster will be no different. Everyone at Speed Frame is delighted with the announcement of this new contract.’
Attractive features
Speed Frame launched its composite door division in March 2004 with a blaze of publicity. The product’s qualities and accreditations, including Secured by Design and the company’s ability to deliver anywhere in the UK in any quantities in just five working days (10 working days on non-standard orders) have made it very attractive.
The advantages of this new door have not been lost on the social housing sector either and following a successful introduction at the Chartered Institute of Housing (CIH) Exhibition and Conference in Harrogate in June last year, many councils up and down the country have requested more information and negotiations are underway with several others.
Speed Frame PVCu, based in Barnsley, is the UK’s largest supplier of windows, doors and conservatories, whose portfolio includes work in the newbuild sector, replacement market and the developing social housing market.
The company is already one of the region’s largest employers and this new alliance with Doncaster Council can only be good news for employment in the region and the local economy in general. Soon local people will benefit from the product too.
