11:30AM Property consultant appointed advisor to London Metropolitan University
Drivers Jonas (DJ) has been appointed to advise London Metropolitan University (LMU) on all estates matters.
LMU is the largest unitary university in the capital with over 37,000 students and 3,000 staff. The estate is currently focused in two locations, at the North Campus on Holloway Road and the City Campus, in and around Aldgate.
The estate has about 165,000 square metres of space in 22 different buildings. In each location, substantial ongoing site consolidation and redevelopment will be planned, to be driven by the University’s new Estates Strategy which will be one of DJ’s first priorities.
Jeremy Wilson, the lead partner at DJ, said: "We are really pleased to be appointed to advise LMU. I am sure that with our considerable strategic estate and development consultancy skills we can really help ensure that the university has the right capital infrastructure to move it even further ahead.”
Neil Johnston, Director of Estates at LMU, said: “We have a need for strategic advice on property matters, and an insight into the current changing property market position, and we believe the partnership with DJ will enable us to move forward. This will also assist us to achieve the aims of the university as a whole and help us rationalise our position within London.”
