Construction e-business consultancy Knowledge Online has launched an e-mentoring service.
The company, part of construction management firm PCM, will provide e-mentors for senior managers who need to get to grips with computer technology. Knowledge Online operations director John Setra says that the service would be tailored to individuals and include an initial assessment of company and manager needs, followed by quarterly meetings where needs are reassessed and new developments explained. Each day-long consultancy costs between £700 and £950.

Setra added that the service would be suitable for companies of any size and would provide "short, sharp inputs of expert advice" for senior managers unable to keep up to date with the fast-paced world of e-business. The consultation would provide advice on how to get the best out of internal and external computing systems, including complex issues such as e-procurement and project management and basics such as email and internet usage.

Knowledge Online has completed an assessment of web-based project management tools for developer Land Securities. It has recommended that Land Sec choose between Buildonline, theBIW and Causeway Technology's Buildingwork.com for large projects and Cadweb for smaller projects.
