The Association of Street Lighting Electrical Contractors (ASLEC) has signed up to the Electrotechnical Certification Scheme (ECS). It has adopted the ECS as a national recognised scheme to ensure that all operatives work in a safe and competent manner.
Mark Malins, ASLEC chair, said: “The highway electrical industry has for too long been without a recognised competency qualification and training scheme. This provides us with a nationally recognised competency card.”
JIB chair Sir Michael Latham said: “This emphasises the ability of the scheme to work with all sectors close to the electrotechnical industry.”
