Edinburgh council has become the first Scottish local authority to hire a private contractor to manage its housing management services.
Housing service provider Pinnacle Housing has won a contract to manage 50 council staff providing management services for 4900 homes in the north of Edinburgh.

Pinnacle Housing will be bringing in two managers for a year to work on the consultancy project, which aims to reduce rent arrears and the number of empty properties.

An innovative aspect of the project is that it will be self-funding. “Our costs will be met out of the improvements made,” said Ian Keys, Pinnacle’s Partnership director.
