Rotrax Engineering Services
Runner-up in this category last year and winner of the 1999 M&E Contractor of the Year, Rotrax Engineering Services continued to develop throughout 1999.

Physical expansions have seen a new office open in London and moves to larger premises at both Newcastle-upon-Tyne and Derby to accommodate staff increases created by increasing business.

The company's commitment to the Egan principles have been well demonstrated, with over 50% of its contracts carried out under partnering arrangements, an increase of 20% over the past year. Turnover has also shown a large rise, with a 50% increase during 1998/99 and 280% over the past four years.

Rotrax showed a strategic approach to monitoring performance and client satisfaction

Hills Electrical & Mechanical
Hills Electrical has seen numerous changes since the 1999 awards, not least the company's name change. This resulted from the company integrating mechanical expertise into all its regional centres. In addition, three new regional centres were opened, in London, East Anglia and Glasgow.
