Eu-supply, the auction, tendering and procurement website, has appointed a new UK managing director. Naomi Thomas has been director of partnering and new markets at eu-supply since she joined in June of last year and now steps up to managing director.
Thomas said the company will focus on deepening relationships with existing customers in the next year. "Our clients are the top 300 contractors in Europe, and we know most of them now, so our focus will be to strengthen our relationships with them. We have been working with the main contractors in the UK, and we will be concentrating on giving them value.

"We are very confident we will continue to do well," she added. "By next year we will have definitely broken even, and maybe into profit." Thomas replaces Patrick Destang, who has stepped down to return to his native France for personal reasons.

Eu-supply has also cut four staff from its UK sales team. It plans to recruit more staff for its operations department. This follows a similar move by portal Buildonline, which secured an extra £10m of funding after cutting 18 staff from its UK operations. Contractor Balfour Beatty has also taken a small stake in the company.
