EMCOR Drake & Scull has been awarded a £4.25 million contract to supply and install the m&e services at Liverpool Museum.

A £30 million refurbishment project is underway at the museum, involving an extensive building improvement programme that will double the size of the display areas. The project is supported by the Heritage Lottery Fund and will see an impressive six-storey, glass topped atrium, new ground level entrance and ten new visitor attractions being installed. The m&e consultant on the project is David McAspurn & Partners.

The project is complicated by the fact that the original buildings are listed and that both designers and installers are required to be conscious of the age and fragility of many of the exhibits.
