THE WATCH SECURITY has scored what is believed to be a ‘first’ for a UK security company, having been nominated as one of three finalists in the Birmingham Coalition Awards (designed to acknowledge achievement and success in employment). The other finalists were the City’s National Health Trust and the West Midlands Police.
The Award, bestowed by Alan Johnson MP (the secretary of state for work and pensions), results from the close partnership established between The Watch Security’s Human Resources Department – headed up by Simon Ball – and the JobCentre Plus network operating throughout the Midlands.
Commenting on the Award, The Watch Security’s managing director Richard Evans told SMT: “At a time when our industry is coming under the regulatory microscope, it is very satisfying to discover that a commercial manned security company can win such an accolade alongside two huge public sector organisations.”
