CCTV specialist Philips Communication, Security and Imaging (CSI) has reported "major interest" and "positive feedback" from its highly successful series of 'Digital Day' CCTV seminars, aimed at removing end user and installer fears and uncertainties surrounding the use of digital surveillance systems.
Over 300 people attended the first series of seminars held in March and April, while the second series – held in September and later this month – are expected to be even more popular.

The company appears to have achieved great success following presentations to representatives of the Southern Universities Purchasing Consortium Security Group at the University of Hertfordshire. "Digital CCTV is still something of a black art to many end users," said Erez Sharon, head of the Group. "They should attend events like this to bring themselves up to speed on the issues involved."

Further details on the 'Digital Day' seminars are available by contacting Philips CSI on (tel) 01932 765666. End users are also urged to read this month's Briefing Paper (page 49). Written by Panasonic's Simon Wright, it offers an excellent comparison of digital CCTV versus conventional analogue systems.
