Fan, drive and motor manufacturer Ebm-papst has launched an interactive CD designed to inform and educate designers and end-users on some of the implications of the changing government legislation regarding energy efficiency in buildings.

The CD addresses two main areas: regulatory issues and system solutions. It identifies methods of money saving within building services, in addition to highlighting some of the key regulatory issues that are affecting engineering design and Building Regulations.

The CD explores and explains a number of key areas and issues such as the Kyoto Agreement, the Government White Paper on a low carbon economy, the EU directive on the energy performance of buildings and Part L and F of the Building Regulations. The CD provides designers and end-users with alternative ideas to meet these changing specifications. Other areas reviewed are capital and life cycle costs for fans and associated equipment, the Enhanced Capital Allowance scheme, Market Transformation Programme and the Carbon Trust.
