4:05PM Demolition work begins at home of the Derby

Work has started on a redevelopment programme at Epsom racecourse, home to the Derby. The first phase includes knocking down the Rosebery Stand and building a new entrance pavilion. The second phase will consist of demolishing the rest of the grandstand and building a new one.

The course aims to attract a greater year round income from conference and exhibition events at the venue to add to the 16 race days a year at Epsom.

The project team includes demolition contractor General Demolition, QS Goyne Adams and project manager EC Harris.
