Moeller Group has been sold by Advent International to UK-based private equity firm Doughty Hanson & Co.
The purchase price was 1.1 billion euro, including pension liabilities and financial debt.
Claus Felder of Doughty Hanson said: “High quality engineering, strong brand names, a state-of-the-art production portfolio and leading market positions are key features which make Moeller an excellent company.”
Moeller generated sales of 870 million euro in the year 2004/05, with sales in core operations undergoing a year-on-year increase from 670 million to 760 million euro.

Schneider Electric has enhanced its position in the customized sensors market with the acquisition of BEI Technologies. Schneider has agreed to buy all of the shares in BEI for US$562 million.
