October 2004 marks the sixth anniversary of the Security Excellence Awards, organised by CMP Information Ltd security journals Security Management Today, Security Installer and CCTV Today

Now entering their SiXth year (and fifth term as a Black Tie gala occasion), the Security Excellence Awards have rightly become known as the industry’s Oscars.

Once again, this sparkling annual event has attracted the attention of hundreds of security industry figureheads – be they in-house or contract managers, installers, consultants, manufacturers, members of the leading Trade Associations or inspection bodies. Why? The reason is simple... The Security Excellence Awards are specifically designed to recognise and reward those security teams, companies and individuals who’ve made ‘professionalism’ their byword.

In 2004, we’ve managed to increase the scale and stature of the event yet again. With the 2003 event COMPLETELY SOLD OUT – and 650 of the security industry’s most prominent professionals packing into The Great Room at Le Meridien Grosvenor House Hotel on London’s Park Lane for a celebration of the industry’s success stories – we had a tough act to follow this year.

Follow it we have, though, with a move to The London Hilton Hotel – yet another of the Capital’s most prestigious night-time entertainment venues. A clear indication of how much respect this event now commands in the industry’s calendar, and a sure sign that the Security Excellence Awards are the biggest, best and only awards scheme to cover the entire industry.

Security Management Today, Security Installer and CCTV Today are delighted that Security Industry Authority (SIA) chairman Peter Hermitage agreed to be our KeyNote Speaker this year, offering clues as to the future direction of regulation in the private sector. It’s certainly an engaging time to be a practitioner in the industry.
