NuAire has launched its latest control package. Ecosmart is a fully integrated ventilation control system and enables designers to select a fan system which adjusts its performance to match demand. Ecosmart is used with EFF2 motors, although EFF1 motors can be fitted, which are on the UK Technology List of energy saving equipment.
The fan is activated by a signal from one or more switches such as passive infrared, time clock or bems signal. The Ecosmart controller ensures that the system operates at the optimum speed to maintain air quality or temperature levels.
2. Poly loses weight
Halifax Fan has introduced a series of polypropylene fans for extracting air containing corrosive properties. Compact designs and reduced weight allow for roof mounting and areas where space is at a premium. Good efficiencies and aerodynamics ensure minimal power requirements and optimum noise levels.
3. Clean air act
Samsung’s latest Air Cleaner is claimed to be 99% efficient on pollen and spores and 96% efficient on all particles, eliminating unpleasant odours. It has four filters: a mesh for removing larger particles, two electrostatic ionizer filters to remove dust and particulates, and a deodorising carbon filter. The filters can be removed, the mesh can be vacuumed and the electrostatic and carbon filters can be hand washed. The fan can process up to 840 m3/h.
4. Out of the woods
Woods Air Movement, part of fan manufacturers Fläkt Woods, has launched its new range of fans specifically designed to provide air-handling solutions for UK industrial applications.
The CHK, CHE, and FHK industrial fan ranges come with either direct, belt or semi-flexible coupling drives and can be used in temperatures between -20°C and 350°C. Up to six different blade designs can be utilised for clean, dust-laden and heavy dust-laden air. The ranges have a flexible design philosophy with a variety of mounting arrangements available.
5. Low energy and long life
Vent-Axia has launched its new LoWatt T-Series range of intake/extract fans. The latest addition to the range has a choice of window, panel and roof mounting options and has the ‘snap-together’ design allowing it to be dismantled and re-assembled in-situ. The LoWatt T-Series has dc operation and electronic commutation. This is complemented by warmth retention during the winter with an electronically controlled shutter preventing warm air loss and back-draughts. It is available in 230 mm and 300 mm fan sizes, providing airflows of up to 716 m3/h and 1536 m3/h respectively. Automatic control options include humidity and air quality sensors.
