Staffordshire Police used extensive CCTV coverage at this year's eigth annual V Festival at Weston Park to guard against anti-social behaviour and petty crime.
The Panasonic system was designed to cover crime hotspots identified during previous festivals and other areas of police concern, comprising over 2,500 metres of cable, four dome cameras and a state of the art digital recorder.

Halesowen based Custom Technology Solutions provided constant monitoring of the huge crowds, allowing instantaneous transmission of information of an offence. Police on site were able to identify offenders quickly and easily due to the high image quality of the system, bringing the reported crime rate down by 25%.

Staffordshire Police also made 55 arrests and seized over £12,000 of illegal substances at the event.
