Hochiki Europe has unveiled FIRElink, a high-sensitivity smoke detection system.

It uses advanced semiconductor laser and electronics technology which Hochiki claims helps achieve substantial whole-life cost savings compared with other systems. Applications include smaller, non-compartmentalised rooms, warehouses with racking, and electronic and electromechanical equipment. Two versions are available: the single-pipe FIRElink-25 and the two-pipe FIRElink-100. An explosion-proof version in a cast aluminium enclosure is also available, for use in hazardous areas.
