Schüco International has just taken delivery of a new transport fleet that is expected to cut fuel consumption by 12 per cent, thereby significantly reducing the company’s carbon footprint.
The new Mercedes Actros vehicles and 13.6 metre trailers – each unit travels an average of 1800 km a week – will be used to transport materials to Schüco’s fabricators all over the UK and Eire. Painted in the company’s new grey and silver colour scheme, the lorries also advertise, for the first time in the UK, Schüco’s presence in the solar product and design markets.
In addition to consuming less fuel, the new fleet will also increase the company’s competitiveness through lower maintenance costs.
