Mace jumps into second with £201m of work, but Bovis and Sir Robert McAlpine still dominate annual tables.
Jarvis clinched the top spot in the contractors’ monthly league table for January with a £350m contract for Thameslink 2000.

The contract moved Jarvis from 26th spot to fifth in the annual contractors’ league table.

Mace was the highest monthly climber, moving up 11 places to second in January with contract wins totalling £201m. December’s table-topper HBG slipped down to seventh with £63.8m of contracts.

Bovis Lend Lease and Sir Robert McAlpine continue to dominate in the contractors’ yearly table.

English Partnerships is still top of the clients’ table with £1bn worth of contracts, and Thameslink 2000’s £350m contract moves it from ninth to second.

Building Design Partnership continues to head the architects’ table with £412m worth of contracts in the year to January.

How the tables work

To qualify for the tables, companies must have been identified on two or more projects fitting the criteria below in the past 12 months. Projects must:
  • be of precisely calculated or confirmed value
  • have reached the main contract stage
  • be valued at £1m or more
  • be in the UK.
Residential, civil engineering or overseas contracts are excluded. Student accommodation is included.
