Alcoa Architectural Products’ Reynobond panels have been used for a new Decathlon store in Antibes, France.

The aluminium composite panels were used for about 1,000m2 of the building’s surface and are also wrapped around the structural columns. The panels, which were delivered in a mahagony brown with a Duragloss 5000 coating, were specified to contrast with the light-coloured cladding used elsewhere on the building. The panels were fixed to the roof using a cassette fastening system and the company says their flexibility allowed them to fit the curvature of the columns. The company says that the panels are resistant to environmental influences and remain unaffected by UV and the region’s salty ocean air.
