Globe Theatre Restaurant
This offers fabulous views of the City along the Thames, an interesting menu and widely spaced tables that deter eavesdropping. It also has quite a good theatre attached.

The Grill Room at the Dorchester
This is top tucker with service so smooth that you don't even hear the clatter of cutlery. But hold back on the port, the armchairs are very comfy. They also tend not to let people in before 12.30pm.

Langan's Brasserie
It has a buzzy, fun atmosphere that is liked by captains of industry and celebrities. But it's noisy, so not ideal for sealing deals.

Drones
One of Marco Pierre White's offshoots, but he isn't a chef here anymore and so it is all the quieter for it. Very professional service (regulars are especially fussed over), great food and a peaceful atmosphere combine to make this a culinary hit.

Nico at Ninety
Although attached to the Grosvenor House Hotel, this gentle, quiet and comfortable restaurant is relaxed and offers a range of well-balanced excellent dishes.
