Interior fit-out firm Phoenix Interiors has installed a range of ceiling systems at Virgin Atlantic’s newly refurbished training centre, The Base, in Crawley, near Gatwick Airport.

The firm worked on the 22,000m2 facility, where 1,500 Virgin staff train every week.

Phoenix fitted 1,500m2 of Armstrong Microlook demountable ceiling, 1,200m2 of BG Rigitone square-edged perforated plasterboard, 400m of cone-shaped glass reinforced Gypsum sections and nosings, and 600m2 of British Gypsum standard plasterboard bulkheads.

It also installed metal-furring taped and jointed ceilings, 390m2 of Decoustic Ceilenco acoustic panels fixed to an aluminium framed support grid and eight 9m-high fire barriers.
