Contracts worth £85.5m, including a £40.5m education project in Scotland, enable firm to keep August lead.
Sir Robert McAlpine maintained its top spot in the league table for September thanks to new work worth £85.5m. The largest contract won was a £40.5m public–private partnership project in Fife. This will provide for three new-build schools for 3300 pupils.

Wates Group leaped from 29th to second with six contracts totalling £52.3m. Gleeson Group, in third place, won three contracts worth £44.8m.

The yearly contractors' table remained the same, with Bovis Lend Lease, Sir Robert McAlpine and HBG Construction in the top positions. The same big three stayed on top of the architects and clients tables. The most notable change was Sheppard Robson's climb from 17th to 10th position.
