This new primary school is characterised by a lively yet informal grouping of high-quality facing brickwork forms that are roofed with clay tiles. The judges were pleased to see that this is enhanced by an extensive area of green roofing, which is already flourishing.

They were also satisfied by the designer’s robust ecological agenda that has tried wherever possible to use durable, local materials and also employ solar panels to power the main ventilation system.
