SIR – I have read about your Four Issues, One Voice Campaign with great interest. I and the other members of the senior management team here at Temple Security are fully supportive of your efforts to make the Home Office address salient issues like the licensing of in-house personnel, the cutting of regulatory red tape, fair charging within the Approved Contractor Scheme and representation from the industry on the Regulator’s Board.

In particular, I believe the issue of in-house licensing to be of fundamental importance. Having a contracted security officer from the private sector working alongside and performing the same duties as an in-house officer – with the latter not requiring a licence to be on duty reflects a gross inconsistency.
