At the end of June, the Trust also launched Action Energy, a government backed scheme to help managers responsible for energy, procurement or facilities cut energy costs.
Action Energy was formerly the Energy Efficiency Best Practice Programme. This launch includes a new £10 million Energy Loans initiative is also being introduced across England and Wales, with support from Margaret Beckett, secretary of state for environment, food and rural affairs. These loans are available to small and medium sized companies which find it difficult to find spare time or money to invest in suitable energy saving projects.
Action Energy offers help to organisations of all sizes with free, impartial advice on how to save money by reducing energy use. Services include a free helpline (080058 57 94) providing expert advice, online information, publications and free energy surveys.
