B&Q – the UK'S largest home improvement and garden centre retailer – has renewed its £300,000 contract with manned security contractor Galago for the provision of security services at its Hampshire headquarters.
As part of the contract, Galago is providing a range of services – including a manned security presence of 12 officers and a three-strong front-of-house reception team.
Speaking about the contract, John Roberts – facilities manager at the B&Q head office – told SMT: "The Galago team has proven to be extremely flexible. The static guards, for example, carry out their own duties efficiently, but they also assist us with meter readings, plant room inspections and in helping to unload deliveries. It's very much an added value service."
All members of the Galago team have their progress monitored by way of Key Performance Indicators, an initiative set up by the Government to provide a benchmark against which a company's performance may be measured.
