IndigoVision has been awarded its largest-ever US contract to supply an integrated IP-based surveillance system for the new casino complex at the Mardi Gras Racetrack and Gaming Centre in Florida

IP video technology devised by IndigoVision complete with high resolution images and ultra-fast analysis of footage and which is fully-compliant with Florida Gaming Board Regulations – is currently being installed by Miami-based Aware Digital at the Mardi Gras Racetrack and Gaming Centre in Hollywood, Florida.

A fundamental requirement of the Florida Gaming Board and the casino operator is that all video must be DVD quality, 4SIF and rendered at 30 frames per second, with no slippage of any frames. After all, any dropped frames within a video clip could well hide fraudulent or criminal activity, as well as making any customer disputes more difficult to resolve.

System redundancy and reliability are also important factors Gaming Board Regulations dictate that the Gaming Centre can only operate roulette wheels and slot machines, etc if video is being recorded at all times, and thus any downtime would have immediate (and hard-hitting) commercial implications for the Centre.

IndigoVision’s solution consists of 550 cameras administered by Control Centre, the company’s enterprise video and alarm management software that allows viewing of the live camera feeds and recorded video over a dedicated IP network. Video recording is to be achieved by way of eight server-based network video recorders offering a combined 70 Tb of data storage space.

The CCTV cameras will be connected to the network via IndigoVision’s 10-way transmitter/receiver racks. These are designed to convert analogue video to MPEG4 high quality digital video for subsequent transmission over the network.
