GardTec Limited has said it is withdrawing from the CCTV market to concentrate on its core business of intruder alarms, following a comprehensive review of the company’s UK market strategy.
Known for its range of high quality products, which include control panels, sounders, detection devices and ancillary equipment, GardTec plans to invest heavily in a major R&D programme. The company is also planning a significant expansion into European and world markets.

Earlier this year, GardTec re-positioned itself as a technology company supplying direct to customers, rather than as a general security distributor.

It says the decision to withdraw from the CCTV sector is in line with the re-positioning. However, “the fall in CCTV prices, CCTV suppliers dealing directly with installers and the rising costs associated with supporting CCTV sales”, also contributed to its withdrawal.

Managing director, Mark Taylor, said: “This decision allows the business to concentrate on our areas of expertise and to continue to produce and develop high class solutions for the requirements of the UK and export customers. The withdrawal from the CCTV sector will enable our dedicated staff to focus on increasing our sales and service quality to existing and new customers.
