George's Cross: Lambeth council has insisted that it may still decline developer St George’s latest application to build Vauxhall Tower in south London – despite pressure from the London mayor to grant permission. The mayor backed the plan after St George raised the amount of affordable housing from 25% to 40%. The developer resubmitted its plan for the 180 m tower this week. But Andrew Sawdon, Lambeth’s executive member for planning and regeneration, said: “The application will be decided on the planning merits.”
