Communities Scotland has agreed to give Glasgow Housing Association's tenants more time to prepare for a role in managing the city's 82,000 former council homes.
The regulator has heard concerns from some of GHA's 78 local housing organisations, and agreed to a phased registration process. The move came after Housing Today revealed tenants working on the LHOs felt the training deadline was too tight (HT 4 July, page 9).
Communities Scotland chief executive Bob Millar said: "We have listened to the LHOs, and have agreed to support them by allowing for a phased registration programme which will give them the flexibility they need."
