Morgan Sindall has acquired Hatfield-based Gleeson MCL on behalf of its infrastructure services division Morgan Est for £23.3m.

The MJ Gleeson Group subsidiary, which employs 143 people and specialises in building and civil engineering infrastructure for the rail industry, will become Morgan Est Rail. Danny Duggan, Gleeson MCL's MD, will head up the business and joins the Morgan Est board under Mark Cutler, Morgan Est's new managing director who joined from Carillion last month.
