Employers of apprentices could benefit from an extra £10m of funding from the government.

Being made available over the next three years through the Learning and Skills Council’s trial Apprenticeship Expansion Programme, the cash is for employers running apprenticeships that want to recruit and train extra trainees. Meanwhile, there’s good news for the approximately 100 apprentices who have been successfully redeployed through ConstructionSkills’ new clearing-house scheme, which was set up to help find alternative positions for those facing redundancy.
