The government has pledged an extra £3m towards solar housing trials and is calling on developers to bid for a share of the money.
It follows completion of nine homes in Edmonton by Laing Homes incorporating photovoltaic roof slates.
The project was one of nine that shared a £1.4m grant. Laing says it will apply for more money if the homes are well received by buyers.
