London mayor Ken Livingstone has given the go-ahead for a £3.5bn Stratford City development in east London
At least 1350 of the 5000 new homes, designed by Fletcher Priest Architects, will be affordable; a huge new office and retail centre will also be created.
The Stratford City Development Partnership (comprising property companies Chelsfield and Stanhope, and London and Continental Railways) will invest over £300m in infrastructure and hand over land for a new school. The ODPM must now give its approval.
