Group 4 Securicor Aviation and Vision Security Group (VSG) have signed major guarding contracts in the wake of both companies forging ahead with licensing in relation to the Private Security Industry Act 2001.
Group 4 Securicor Aviation – one of the leading aviation security services companies – has just begun a contract to provide security for Virgin Atlantic at Gatwick Airport.
Working in conjunction with Virgin’s own Aviation Security Department and its head of security Andy Blackwell, the company will tackle passenger profiling, aircraft searches and guarding, Visa and travel document checking and the secondary screening of passengers at departure and arrival gates.
VSG has been selected by B&Q to be its national provider of manned guarding services. In a landmark deal that encompasses over 340 SuperCentres and Warehouse-style stores, a network of ten distribution sites and nine corporate locations, the contract involves VSG supplying close to 500 staff who are to be deployed across sites in England, Scotland, Wales and Ireland.
Formed in 2000, VSG has just moved to a new head office in Northampton incorporating a Remote Monitoring Centre.
