At the press of a button, parking attendants in Dorset can now call in a 'Guardian Angel' to listen in and take the appropriate action to protect them from aggressors while they're out on patrol.
The emergency support is just one push of an SOS button away on the Cybertrak mobile telephones now being worn by all attendants following the transfer of parking enforcement control from the police to Dorset County Council.

Emergency call handlers are able to pinpoint the whereabouts of the 14 attendants from the phone systems' satellite link, such that support can be sent immediately to trouble spots as and when necessary.

The parking attendants patrol the whole of Dorset with the exception of Bournemouth, Poole, Christchurch, Weymouth and Portland. Often they're working in rural areas, thus support is vital. Importantly, recordings of all SOS calls can be used in court as evidence.
