In its forecast for the period 2002-2006, MBD's 'UK Manned Security Market Development Report' predicts a sustained growth in the sector, although the rate of growth will be somewhat slower than that experienced in the late 1990s. Year-on-year growth rate is forecast to rise to 4% in 2004.
Further annual market increases are expected for the end of the review period, with growth of 2% and 1% predicted for 2005 and 2006 respectively.
According to MBD's research, then, the value of the UK manned security sector is expected to be almost 11% higher in real terms than the projected value of sales in the sector in 2001.
The most significant growth rates are expected to occur in the custodial services sector, with the value forecast to grow by as much as 30% during the period from 2002-2006. The market value of the Cash-in-Transit sector is also expected to increase by a substantial 12%.
