Hackney empire: This planned £15m, 180-unit scheme by New Islington & Hackney Housing Association in Hackney, north London, will receive £5m in Housing Corporation grant from Wednesday’s housing programme allocation announcement. The proposal, which will see 92 of the units for affordable rent or shared ownership, are to be presented to local residents for consultation at Berger Road Primary School on Saturday.

The scheme is to be developed in a joint venture with landowner Renaissance. Levitt Bernstein is the architect, but a housebuilder has yet to be appointed.
