Healthy living: Developer Barratt has bought eight redundant hospital sites across London and the South-east to recycle into nearly 1500 homes. The sites, which include the old Harrow Hospital in north-west London (right), are expected to yield around 300 affordable homes for rent and shared ownership by Barratt, working in partnership with housing associations. The largest project will take place at the Herts & Essex Hospital in Hertfordshire, which is close to the government's proposed housing growth area around Stansted, Essex.
