The choice of cable tray has saved installation time and costs at a hospital refurbishment in Kent.
Time and costs have been reduced by the selection of Cablofil wire cable tray for an £18 million refurbishment of Farnborough Acute General Hospital in Orpington, Kent.

The refurbishment project is part of a £117 million design and build contract within a private finance initiative framework being carried out by main contractor Taylor Woodrow. M&E contractor MJN Colston selected the Cablofil product over traditional galvanised sheet steel tray. Around 10 000 m of the tray in varying sizes was supplied by Edmundson Electrical. It is being installed to contain and protect electrical power and lighting cables throughout the hospital.

When complete in 2003, the 500-bed unit will provide a range of acute general hospital services for the region.
