Helicon has published its third annual almanac which claims to reveal information on the 'burglar's timetable'.
The 'Hutchinson Almanac 2001' includes a comprehensive section on law and crime, and policing the Internet. Information has been collated from a number of sources, including the 1998 British Crime Survey.

The report also provides an overview of the UK legal system and judiciary, and crimes and offences. It is priced at £35.

According to the latest Home Office British Crime Survey, crime has decreased by 10% since 1997.

Burglaries have decreased by 21%,car crime is down by 11% and violence by 4%. Robbery is said to be up by 14%, while theft from the person has risen by around 4%.
